A Tranquil Getaway Residence in China
Coming from the tree-filled courtyard and square lattice pavers towards the stone walled living room that overlooks it, the space creates an air of stillness as though the encompassing property has created a fortress and turn to be a buffer between you and the planet outside. Towards the natural stone rock incorporated into the planning from the house this house was designed for solitude, having a beautiful presentation.
The simple wood stepped staircase overlooks the stone-walled dining and living areas just below and stays clear from the space, as though to not disrupt the tranquility from the sun-filled room.
The two-story stone wall continues the theme of the design and works well against the natural materials. The 2 areas are well-defined from the rugs, one laying wall to wall and also the other laying wall to window.
The sitting area flanked by 2 armless sofas and an armless chair practices restraint and invites you in to take a seat with a very good book, or just gaze straight into the courtyard.
The ground to ceiling windows offer ample lighting throughout the day, canned lighting is designed by night.
The wall of glass involving the living area and courtyard Isn‘t about keeping anything out, but bringing the sun and rain in. The pavestones here share a similar pattern like the window.
The home looks as a section of the scenery rather than an interruption in nature. Simple, sparse trees adorn the courtyard and it really is carried straight into the home using the uncluttered living area.
